Exceptional Pedigrees & International Bloodlines
Thoughtful breeding begins with carefully selected Kings and Queens. As an Exotic Shorthair breeder, we have built our program around cats from respected bloodlines, including cats imported from Russia and Germany, champion bloodlines, as well as carefully chosen domestic lines.
Our breeding decisions consider more than a beautiful pedigree. We carefully evaluate health, structure, temperament, pedigree, and overall breed quality when planning each litter.
Our goal is to preserve the distinctive qualities that make the Exotic Shorthair so beloved: the plush coat, round features, sweet expression, and affectionate personality.
Our Exotic Kings and Queens are family members first. We also typically limit our Queens to one or two litters per year, allowing us to give each mother and her kittens the individual care, attention, socialization, and nutritional support they deserve.
Health Guarantee
Every kitten leaves with a health guarantee.
Raised with Love
Cage-free, well-socialized, and handled from an early age.
Safe Nationwide Delivery
Licensed Pet Nanny delivery and airport pickup options available.
Health & Veterinary Care
We work closely with a licensed veterinarian to provide appropriate veterinary care, vaccinations, and health screening for our cats and kittens.
Our goal as an Exotic Shorthair breeder is to give every kitten the best possible start while providing families with clear information about their kitten’s health and care. Vet reference can be provided on request.
Raised with Love
Our kittens are raised in a clean, cageless, loving home environment, where they receive daily human interaction, attention, and plenty of affection.
Because our kittens are raised in our home, we have the opportunity to watch their personalities develop and provide individual care and socialization from an early age.
Our Exotic Longhairs & Persians
In addition to our Exotic Shorthairs, we also breed Exotic Longhairs, beautiful cats with the distinctive Exotic type and a longer, luxurious coat.
Exotic Longhairs are closely related to Persians, and terminology can vary among cat registries. You may therefore see the term Persian used when discussing Exotic Longhairs. On our individual kitten pages, we clearly identify our cats as Exotic Longhairs when that is the appropriate description.
If you’re interested in a longer-coated Exotic, we’re happy to help you learn more about this beautiful variety.
Safe Nationwide Kitten Delivery
Although we’re based in Arkansas, families don’t have to live nearby to welcome a Mon Chéri kitten into their home.
We offer safe pet transportation options, including delivery with a licensed Pet Nanny. Airport pickup is also available at Fort Smith Regional Airport (FSM) or Northwest Arkansas National Airport (XNA).
Whether you’re in Arkansas, Texas, California, Florida, New York, or elsewhere in the United States, we’ll help you determine which delivery or pickup option works best for your family.

A Family-Run Exotic Shorthair Cattery in Arkansas
Mon Chéri is a family-run Exotic Shorthair cattery in Arkansas, where our cats and kittens are raised in our home and receive individual attention throughout their development.
For more than 20 years, we have devoted ourselves to raising pedigreed Exotic Shorthairs and Exotic Longhairs with an emphasis on health, temperament, breed quality, and loving companionship.
We believe an excellent Exotic Shorthair breeder should do more than produce beautiful kittens. Responsible breeding means carefully selecting the parents, paying attention to health and temperament, raising kittens with daily human interaction, and remaining available to families before and after their kitten comes home.
Our goal is to raise beautiful, healthy, well-socialized Exotics with the affectionate personalities that make them wonderful companions.
Why Families Love the Exotic Shorthair
The Exotic Shorthair is beloved for its round face, expressive eyes, plush coat, and affectionate personality. These cats are generally known for being friendly, relaxed, and happy to spend time with their people.
The breed can be a wonderful fit for many different households. We have created detailed guides to help families understand the Exotic Shorthair’s personality and how these cats may fit into different homes.
